Aldegundis is a life-saver
When Prince Eudo pressed his marriage proposal, Aldegundis fled to a monastery. Happy to have her, the reverend fathers arranged a ceremony in which she’d don the nun's veil of virginity — but no veil was to be found. Just before they were to postpone her initiation, in through the window flew a dove, with a veil in its beak, and dropped it over her head. Today, like my personal favorite saint Barbara, she can be invoked against sudden death.
